Section: Freshwater Ecology
Petra Mutinova works as a research assistant in the section Freshwater Ecology, currently specializing in species determination of phytoplankton and phytobenthos, and working at the NIVA Culture Collection of Algae.
During her studies at Charles University in Prague and the University of Oslo, she gained expertise in phycology and both freshwater and marine ecology. From 2010 she worked on her own projects considering spatial and temporal dynamics of microphytobenthic communities (particularly diatoms and desmids), moreover she got involved in several monitoring and research projects as a diatom specialist. She is also experienced and interested in species determination of other protist organisms, and community structure analysis in general.
