Research Scientist within Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment
The section for Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) performs studies within the fields of regulatory ecotoxicology, cell biology, biological effects studies, effects-directed analysis as well as chemical and environmental risk assessment. The section seeks to recruit a research scientist that can demonstrate a broad range of skills within ecotoxicology with particular emphasis towards performing ecotoxicity test assessments.
The successful candidate will be involved in designing, directing and performing ecotoxicity tests at NIVA’s main laboratories in Oslo. You will be required to show a good knowledge and previous experience of ecotoxicology testing and demonstrate a good scientific track record. The candidate will be involved in ecotoxicity testing (e.g. according to regulatory guidelines such as OECD, ISO etc), so a working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice will be advantageous. You will be required to produce research applications and tenders of a high scientific quality and liaise with external clients and regulators. You will be expected to write scientific research papers and project reports from your own work and contribute to the sections interdisciplinary activities.
Applicants with PhDs in environmental toxicology or equivalent experience will be prioritised. Previous experience of working in an ecotoxicology laboratory is required. You will need to be a dynamic individual capable of adapting to multiple disciplines within ecotoxicology. A full driver’s license is a requirement.
