Senior Researcher within Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment
The section for Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment at the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) performs studies within the fields of regulatory ecotoxicology, cell biology, biological effects studies, effects-directed analysis as well as chemical and environmental risk assessment. The section seeks to recruit an experienced Senior Research Scientist who has a proven track record for being an expert within environmental toxicology.
As a Senior Research Scientist, you will be expected to advance and help guide the scientific development of the ecotoxicology and risk assessment team. You will be expected to procure research opportunities through national and international project acquisitions, and manage such projects. You may also be required to advise national and international regulatory bodies such as the environment agency on specific tasks.
Applicants require a PhD in an environmental toxicology discipline and a minimum of 5-10 years post-doctoral experience. The successful applicant will be required to generate their own project portfolio and therefore a proven track record for obtaining research funding is essential. In addition consistent scientific production in the form of publications and project dissemination is expected at this level.
