Workshop om Stockholm-konvensjonen i Bosnia-Hercegovina

NIVA har i en årrekke koordinert prosjekter i Bosnia-Hercegovina i samarbeid med Utenriksdepartementet, Universitetet i Sarajevo og nylig Universitetet i Banja Luka.

Stockholm-konvensjonen er opprettet for å beskytte helse og miljø mot persistente organiske miljøgifter (POP). Over 170 land har ratifisert konvensjonen siden den ble undertegnet i 2001. Norge og Bosnia-Hercegovina (BiH) var blant landene som signerte i konvensjonens første år.  Norge ratifiserte den i 2002, BiH ratifiserte den i 2010. I dag har imidlertid ikke BiH innfridd kravene som stilles i konvensjonen. Målet for workshopen er å inspirere til fortsatt fokus på og fremdrift for Stockholm-konvensjonen i BiH.

Workshopen vil bli åpnet av den norske ambassadøren til Bosnia og Hercegovina, Vibeke Lilloe, og blant innlederne finner vi - i tillegg til representanter fra NIVA - mange fra øverste hold i forvaltningen.
