Anders Hobæk holds a PhD in ecology from the University of Bergen, and is a specialist in aquatic biodiversity from population genetics and barcoding via phylogeography to community composition, including their relation to environmental variation and perturbations. Taxonomic expertise particularly with freshwater zooplankton. He has been involved in several large national and international projects, including EU projects and RCN (Research Council of Norway) projects, as well as regional and national monitoring projects. Hobæk mainly works with aspects of eutrophication, acidification, climate change and their effects on freshwater ecosystems, as well as monitoring of lakes and rivers.
