Trannum is marine biologist (PhD) with specialisation within soft bottom ecology. She has long experience as project leader and project participant in research and environmental monitoring projects, related to eutrophication, climate change, mine tailings, discharge from offshore installations and contaminants. The topic of the PhD-thesis was impacts of drill cuttings on soft bottom communities. She also has long experience with experimental studies on benthic communities, conducted in the field or mesocosm. Currently, she works particularly with land-sea interactions, functional analyses and restauration of marine ecosystems. Trannum is also Associate Professor at University of Agder.
