Position: Researcher Scientist, PhD
Section: Freshwater Ecology
Jens Thaulow’s research interests are mainly aimed at the application and development of population genomic tools and molecular methods to study evolutionary forces, genetic structure, and genetic interactions within and between wild populations, where fish have been the main focus, but not limited to. Recently, more focus has been devoted to the development and establishment of remote and non-invasive detection of different species and pathogens using environmental DNA (eDNA). Jens Thaulow also has expertise in field work and assessment of ecological status under the “Vannforskriften”. The expertise of this is further strengthened through his work writing operational monitoring programs for industrial companies.
