During the last four years at NIVA Tormod Haraldstad has carried out research concerning the ecology of anadromous and catadromous fish species, including resolving management conflicts regarding their migration past hydropower dams. In addition he has been involved in long-term projects regarding sea survival of Atlantic salmon and sea trout smolts related to remobilization of aluminum in brackish water. As a researcher at NIVA, Haraldstad has extensive experience with planning and carrying out fish ecology studies in the field, catching and tagging fish, and refining these techniques in a variety of scenarios.
