Sam Welch is a PhD researcher and Research Assistant at NIVA's Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment section, funded by the ECORISK 2050 Innovative Training Network to study the risks of pharmaceuticals in the Norwegian environment. He has worked at NIVA since 2019, with secondments to the Norwegian Institute for Public Health and University of York, with a focus on applying large public health data sets to produce predictions of environmental exposure and risk. Currently, he is working on preparing for his PhD defence, and contributing to the NIVA Computational Toxicology Program's Risk Assessment Database.
