Profile

Caroline Enge is a research scientist at NIVA's section for Water and Society, where she focuses on environmental policy and governance, stakeholder engagement, science-policy interface, research communication and dissemination, environmental challenges such as plastic pollution, and solutions such as nature-based solutions.

Caroline Enge has a M.Sc. in International Environmental Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). She specialized in environmental politics and governance, and graduated in 2018. Her master thesis studied the Kenyan ban on plastic bags and adaptations in behaviour and attitudes, based on fieldwork in Nairobi and she received a master thesis grant from the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI). She has a B.A. in comparative politics at the University of Bergen (UiB), a B.A. in Journalism from Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet), and broad experience working as a journalist and communications adviser before joining NIVA.
