Summary
Statens vegvesen, Region Vest is planning dredging and replacement of sediments in Loftesnessundet in connection with building a new bridge. In advance of dredging investigations of contaminants in the sediments is imperative. NIVA has been responsible for the investigation of the sediments and hired Fjord Forsk Sogn as for doing the sampling. The sediments were analyzed for PAH, TBT, THC (>C5-C35), PCB and DDT. The analyses showed that the sediments along the new bridge line contained low concentrations of contaminants.
