Sedimentation of flocculated tailings from Engebøfjellet

Summary

Nordic Mining is planning mining for production of rutile from Engebø Mountain where the tailings are planned to be deposited at the bottom of the Førde fjord. SINTEF is to model the expected spreading of flocculated tailings. Since the model they use only handles independent single settling particles of different sizes, NIVA has estimated effective grain size distribution curves that provide more realistic settling of flocculated tailings in the model.
