Summary

The report presents results from investigations of water quality and environmental status of five lakes and two rivers in the municipality of Ringsaker in 2015. The main topic has been water quality effects from anthropogenic inputs of nutrients (eutrophication). Based on amounts and composition of phytoplankton and concentrations of nutrients in 2015, the ecological status of all five lakes was classified as moderate. The rivers Øyungsåa and Tyria seemed to be only slightly affected by inputs of nutrients, organic matter and faecal bacteria from anthropogenic sources. None of the water bodies seemed to be significantly affected by acidification. However, the buffering capacity of Lake Grunna seemed to be quite low, and we recorded lower values of pH and alkalinity in 2015 compared to 2014.
