Summary

Amphipod crustaceans are important components of the benthic coastal fauna. Despite several efforts, the Azorean soft bottom water communities are still not fully comprehended in the Archipelago. During the "Meiozores 2019 Summer School-Exploring the meiofauna of the Azores", amphipods were collected among meiofauna shallow water samples from several locations in the São Miguel Island, Autonomous Region of the Azores, in July 2019. In total, 78 amphipod individuals were identified in eight taxa, being three at genus level and five to specific level. Illustrations and short descriptions are provided for all taxa treated herein.
