Jacqueline Knutson holds a masters of science in Environmental Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, Colorado USA and a bachelors degree in biology from Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts USA. She is currently a PhD researcher focused on the transport and processing of organic material in northern ecosystems under climate change. Before arriving in NIVA she worked in the USA as a surface water hydrologist for the State of Montana maintaining critical measurement infrastructure and managing conservation and irrigation projects across a high altitude catchment. She also holds expertise in measuring and reporting water quality metrics from her experience at the Colorado Department of Health and Environment where her projects were focused on characterizing adits and prioritizing remediation in mining impacted basins.
