Valentina Elena Tartiu is a Research Scientist, Ph.D. at NIVA's section for Water and Society. She holds a Ph.D. in Management (2011) and a M.Sc in English Communication for Business and Economics (2010) from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. Valentina has been involved in the sustainability field for a decade. Her research has focused on the interface between innovation, waste management, green chemistry, policy analysis and systems modelling, and paid particular attention to sustainability transitions towards a circular bioeconomy. She has gained valuable expertise in this field, being involved in several international research projects, COST Action TD1203 (EUBIS), Bioeconomy in Transition Research Group (BiT), ISWA Young Professionals Group. Between Nov. 2017 and Oct. 2019, she also held the project manager role of STAR-ProBio - a H2020 research project aiming at developing sustainability assessment tools for bio-based products.
