Change of leadership in NIVA

Greta Bentzen resigns as head of NIVA at the end of the year. Deputy Managing Director Tor-Petter Johnsen will take over as acting Managing Director from 1 January.

After 11 years as Managing Director of NIVA, Greta Bentzen will retire at the end of the year.

Tor-Petter Johnsen will be the new leader of NIVA from 1 January 2021.

Greta has led NIVA through a period of strong growth and positive development. NIVA is now a professional and robust organization with strong research groups, and is well equipped to provide research and advice to a future sustainable societal development.

The board has asked Deputy Managing Director Tor-Petter Johnsen to take over as acting Managing Director from 1 January 2021 and for a period of 1-2 years.

Tor-Petter has a master's degree in telecommunications/data as well as a master's degree in technology management. He has been in his current position since 2013 and has previously served on NIVA's board for seven years.
