Summary
The monitoring program "Ecosystem Monitoring in Coastal Water - ØKOKYST" aims at monitoring the environmental status in selected areas along the Norwegian coast according to vannforskriften (the Water Framework Directive). In 2018 the subprogram Norskehavet Sør (II) included seven pelagic stations (incl. 4 FerryBox stations) within the areas Trondheimsfjorden/Fosen, Namsfjorden and Helgeland. Based on the biological quality element phytoplankton and supporting elements, the overall condition in the seven waterbodies varied from “moderate” to “very good” condition.
