Summary
The monitoring program "Ecosystem Monitoring in Coastal Water - ØKOKYST" aims at monitoring the environmental status in selected areas along the Norwegian coast according to vannforskriften (the Water Framework Directive). Subprogram Norskehavet Sør II includes Trondheimsfjorden/Fosen, Namsfjorden and Helgeland. Station VR52 and VR31 obtained “very good” condition for the biological quality element phytoplankton while supporting parameters pull the condition down to “good”. Hence, the overall condition was classified as “good” for all stations /waterbodies (7 in total) monitored in the sub-program in 2019.
