Summary

Undisturbed peatlands provide essential grazing and movement of landscapes for reindeer husbandry. Cumulative land-use pressures and climate change are fragmenting pastures and reducing their grazing quality, blocking traditional migration, undermining animal well-being and Indigenous livelihoods. Loss of access to traditional pasture areas erodes Indigenous knowledge and cultural continuity.
