Gunhild Borgersen has worked as a research assistant at NIVA since 2010. She has participated in numerous marine monitoring projects and recipient studies, doing field studies, species identification, data/statistics, reporting, and as project leader.Hun has extensive experience in marine monitoring and ecological status classification. She is accredited for sampling and species identification of marine invertebrates (according to ISO 16665), and has particular expertise in polychaetes. Gunhild is responsible for NIVA soft bottoms database, which is the largest database of soft bottom fauna of coastal waters, and the calculation of soft sediment indices. She has a lot of practical experience with the Water Framework Directive and ecological status classification, and attended courses in the classification of ecological status in coastal waters.
