Samantha Eslava Martins is a biologist with MSc and PhD in Biological Oceanography (Federal University of Rio Grande - FURG, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). She performs research in Ecotoxicology since her masters with focus on ecotoxicity, environmental monitoring, mathematical modelling and ecological risk assessment. After 10 years of professorship in the field of Environmental Toxicology at FURG (Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil), she has recently became a researcher at NIVA in the Ecotoxicology and Risk Assessment Section (since February 2020). She has participate in many projects, supervised students, attended different meetings, composed advisory boards and published papers in high impact journals; and she intends to continue these activities as a researcher at NIVA, with environmental monitoring, toxicity tests and ecological risk assessments as her main interest topics.
