Profile

Social science researcher with a PhD in social anthropology, specialist in climate and environmental anthropology.
As an anthropologist, I work to understand and find solutions to various social challenges related to environmental and climate change. Since 2011, I have worked as a researcher on topics such as development and climate change, power and the environment, culture and the environment/climate movements, and diversification of nature's values in governance.
I have broad fieldwork experience from widely different cultures, such as rural northern India and coastal Norway, where in recent years I have worked on social challenges related to the protection and use of nature's values under pressure. In these projects, I have worked closely with the public sector and civil society to create holistic, democratic and practical solutions. By drawing lines between local communities and deeply embedded societal structures of power and culture, my empirical research contributes with a diversity of perspectives that provide a good basis for identifying, analysing and understanding larger processes.
