Juan is a marine biologist and coastal manager interested in species interactions and ecosystem dynamics. He has experience with offshore monitoring and manipulative field and laboratory experiments in behavioural-, physiological- and community ecology. Juan is currently a PhD Research Fellow at the Center for Coastal Research (CCR), University of Agder (UiA). In his thesis, he aims to better understand how the terrestrial organic material affects the benthic compartment across the land-ocean gradient, focusing on macrofauna functional traits and carbon fluxes. He also has a keen interest in ocean and coastal literacy initiatives, with experience in outreach activities with primary school children.
