Profile
Hege Gundersen has a doctorate in biology from the University of Oslo. She has been employed at NIVA since 2009. In her position as a researcher in the section for Marine Biology, she works with GIS, statistics and distribution modeling of species and habitats in coastal ecosystems such as kelp forests and eelgrass beds. Focus areas are the use of drones for coastal mapping and monitoring through the drone infrastructure "SeaBee", as well as carbon storage and other ecosystem services within blue forest. Hege has for many years been part of the "Naturindeks" working group and sherpa for the Norwegian Blue Forests Network (NBFN).
