Profil
Juan is a marine biologist and coastal manager with experience in conducting interdisciplinary research on animal-environment interactions and ecosystem dynamics, with a keen interest in sustainability initiatives. He has experience with manipulative field and laboratory experiments in behavioural-, physiological- and community ecology as well as with benthic and pelagic coastal and offshore sampling (> 500h ship time onboard research vessels). Currently, Juan has been working on research topics related to offshore wind development and biodiversity, such as nature-based solutions and assessing environmental impacts. He is also working as PhD fellow (Centre for Coastal Research, Univeristy of Agder) to better understand the interplay between terrestrial inputs and benthic compartment across the land-ocean gradient, focusing on macrofauna functional traits and carbon fluxes. He also has experience in ocean and coastal literacy initiatives and outreach activities targeting primary school children.
