Pawel Krzeminski is an environmental engineer with emphasis on water and wastewater treatment and reuse, with a special interest in membrane processes.
His research focuses on the topics related to wastewater treatment (biological and advanced treatment) especially filtration technologies; removal of traditional pollutants (particles, organic matter, nutrients) and contaminants of emerging concern (CEC). Membrane separation processes (MBRs, MF, UF, NF, RO), urban water management, removal of NOM in drinking water treatment, occurrence, fate and removal of contaminants of emerging concern during wastewater treatment and reuse, antimicrobial resistance (surveillance; ARB&ARGs quantification and removal), and development of lab-scale custom-made tools and methods in water characterization and treatment has been the main work focus in the last years.
Since 2010, author/co-authored 16 peer-reviewed publications, a book chapter on innovative wastewater treatment & resource recovery technologies and >40 conference presentations. To his field of interest is also scientific education, and he regularly supports and supervises students and visiting researchers (8 since 2010). National representative in Management Committee of the EU COST Actions “New and emerging challenges and opportunities in wastewater reuse (NEREUS)” and Conceiving Wastewater Treatment in 2020 - Energetic, environmental and economic challenges (Water_2020).
