Kristina Øie Kvile has been employed in NIVA’s Section for Marine biology since 2020. She has a PhD from CEES, Department of Biosciences, University of Oslo (UiO) and a MSc through the EU-program Erasmus Mundus MSc of Marine Biodiversity and Conservation. Before starting at NIVA, Kvile had postdoc positions at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and UiO. Most of her research has focused on effects of climate change on zooplankton populations in high-latitude regions, but she is broadly interested in how natural and anthropogenic change influence marine ecosystems. Kvile has broad experience using statistical analyses such as GAMs and numerical models such as IBMs and hydrodynamical models. She has participated in several research cruises to the Arctic and has planned and conducted lab experiments with live animals.
