Caroline has a master's degree in International Environmental Studies from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). She specialized in environmental politics and governance and graduated in 2018. In her thesis she studied the Kenyan ban on plastic bags and adaptations in behaviour and attitudes, based on fieldwork in Nairobi. She has a bachelor degree in comparative politics at the University of Bergen (UiB), and a bachelor in Journalism from Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). Before joining Niva, Caroline has worked several years as a journalist in the newspaper Aftenposten, and previously at the financial news site E24 and local desks of the national broadcaster NRK. She has been an intern at the environmental organisation Zero and at the Permanent Mission of Norway to the UN in Geneva.
